William Philip was born on May 18, 1949 to Guy and Dorothy Searles Hendricks in Troy, New York. On May 23, 1970, William married the love of his life, Brenda Burns at Tenth and Broadway Church of Christ in Wichita Falls, Texas. As a child, William loved the outdoors and enjoyed boy scouting, hunting, and camping. As a teenager, they moved to Tulsa, Ok where William graduated from Memorial High School. He then attended Abilene Christian University and went on to attend Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, VA. William was ordained as a minister in 1974 and served the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) for over 40 years. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Hendricks; their children, Allison Meason and husband, Brian, Jonathan Hendricks and wife, Brittney, and Valerie Brock and husband, Brant, grandchildren, Kyle Hendricks and wife, Autumne, Damion Waltz, Cody and Avia Hendricks, Holden and Beau Brock; brother, John Hendricks and wife, Terry. He was preceded in death by his parents. William will always be remembered as a loving, caring, and compassionate man of God who served his family, community, and his congregation faithfully and tirelessly, and he will be greatly missed.Memorial contributions are welcome and the family suggests, Lubbockview Christian Church Scholarship Fund.
