Wiley “Buck” Hamm, 81, resident of Wolfforth, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas Tuesday, November 7, 2017.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park in Lubbock, Texas with pastor, Rick Oliphint officiating under the direction of Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Visitation is planned for Friday evening, November 10th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers located at 6025 82nd St., Lubbock, Texas, 79424.
Buck was born April 5, 1936, in St. Paul, Virginia to Robert and Viola (Jones) Hamm. He served in the US Air Force from 1956 to1965. In 1961, he moved to Lubbock and was stationed at Reese Air Force Base. Wiley owned and operated Texas Refrigeration, Inc. for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers; Robert, Jr., and Don and sisters; Bernice, Betty Joe, and Polly.
Buck is survived by his son, Freddie “Gene” Hamm and wife Ginger; son, Ted Hamm; daughter, Sandra Carr and husband, Kenneth; best friend, Betty Hamm; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Harold and Fred; sisters, Lois. Judy, Alice, and Annette.
Pallbearers: Grandson’s Tony Hamm, Chris Negen, Wiley Hamm, Nick Negen, Cody Hamm and Grandson-in law, Jonathan McCandless.
