Weldon L. Ash, MD went to meet his heavenly father on October 25, 2017. Weldon was born on January 24, 1939 to Henry Grady and Wilma Newman Ash in Mt. Enterprise, TX. Weldon was the youngest of four children. He graduated from Henderson High School in 1957. He then attended Kilgore Junior College, and completed his degree at the University of Texas in Austin in pharmacology. He was a Family Physician/Psychiatrist and a graduate of The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX. He was also ordained as a minister in 2000. He married Sarah Clendenen in 1960. They had two children, Lisa and Steve.He and Jan McDaniel Ash married in January 1970. Together they shared over four decades of love, laughter and friendship – joining two families into one. Weldon was a member of Generations Church, and Chairman of the Board for Freedom in Jesus Ministries. He lived reflecting grace and mercy. Weldon will be remembered for his passion for the Lord Jesus Christ and his undying love for his family and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Jack McHam; his brother, Kenneth H. Ash; and sister, Dorothy Ash Bozarth.Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 47 years, Jan Ash; his brother, Grady Ash; his children; Lisa Ash Pickens and her husband James Pickens MD of Dallas; Steve Ash and his wife Renee of Houston, and Chris Spears of Shawnee, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Laura and Andrew Pickens of Dallas, Alexi, Haley, and Grady Ash of Houston, and Zachary and Savannah Spears of Lubbock, and one great-grandchild, Reks Alexander. Numerous nieces, and nephews with whom he shared mutual love and affection also survive him.
