Wanda Louise Lampe “Meme”

Wanda Louise Lampe of Lubbock, Texas passed away on February 26, 2024, at the age of 98.

Born in Vernon, Texas on October 4, 1925, to Walter and Mary (Haskins) Skipworth. At seventeen, Wanda married Ed Lampe in Vernon. Ed left to serve in the military and Wanda went to work. She took a job at a Diner and lived above the Diner with the owner and his wife. Wanda moved to Lubbock, where she worked for Time DC, B and H Moving and Storage, caregiver for her grandchildren, before finding her place at American State Bank, where she worked for fifteen years as a Greeter. Throughout her life, Wanda established herself as a dedicated employee, a proud mother, and a beloved grandmother and great grandmother.

A loving mother, Wanda raised her daughter Diana Phillips, who then extended her legacy by becoming Meme to Chelsea and Chase, along with her great-grandchildren Gavin, Gage, and Aspen. Wanda cherished watching her three generations engage in sports activities, finding joy in their achievements and sharing their happiness. Wanda had such a smart, kind, caring, gentle, dedicated heart, along with a strong, quirky sense of humor.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her ex-husband, Ed Lampe; grandson, Chase Phillips; and a brother, Joe Skipworth. Wanda is survived by; her daughter, Diana Phillips; granddaughter, Chelsea Bounds and husband Cody; great grandchildren Gavin, Gage and Aspen.

As we mourn the loss of a remarkable woman, we invite friends and family, to join us in celebrating Wanda’s life. A gathering will be at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers on Thursday, February 29, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 PM.

May her memory live on in the hearts of all those who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her kindness, dedication, and love for her family.
