His family will host a time of fellowship and remembrance from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, March 31, 2022, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. He passed on Monday, March 28, 2022. On March 3, 1933, Walter Lee was born to Troy and Veda Buchanan.  He married Kenelia Youngblood.  Walter enlisted in the U.S. Army on September 13, 1950, in Amarillo, Texas.  He received the Korean Service Medal with 2 bronze service stars, the United Nations Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.

Walt was a one-of-a-kind man, from his twinkling blue eyes to his big smile.  He took pride in everything he did.  He worked up to the day he couldn’t anymore.  If he wasn’t out working, he would be supervising.  He enjoyed spending hours listening to his Juke Box.  He was a man with many stories.  Some were from childhood and some were from while in combat.  Walt could be stubborn at times, but he would also give you the shirt off his back.  He worked hard and endlessly to make sure his loved ones were taken care of.  He did the work of four men, and it is now his time to rest.  He will be greatly missed by friends and family.

Survivors include his children, Walter Buchanan, Denzel Buchanan, Leslie Buchanan; grandchildren, Steven Buchanan and wife Kimberly, Crystal Buchanan; great-grandchildren, Coby Buchanan, Macy Buchanan, Katy Buchanan, Dylan Houchin.

He was preceded in death by his father, Troy Buchanan; mother, Veda Buchanan;  wife, Kenelia Buchanan; and sister, Ina Lora Dew.
