W. Wayne Martin

W. Wayne Martin was born on June 2, 1935, to the late Weldon and Ruth (Edwards) Martin in Lynn County, TX. He graduated from Tahoka High School in1952 and entered the US Army, serving with the Special Forces. Following his discharge from military service he attended Texas Tech University. Wayne married the love of his life, Eugenia McCullough on September 3, 1957, in Lubbock. In 1964, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. He was a member of LakeRidge United Methodist Church. Wayne worked in the agriculture industry his entire career, retiring from PYCO Industries in 2003 as CEO of the company. After his retirement he enjoyed spending time at the Lubbock Country Club playing golf with the Noon Group.

Survivors include his wife, Eugenia Martin, a daughter, Debbie Bowen; a son, Grady Martin and wife Tammie all of Lubbock; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Jeanell Edwards and husband Melvin of Lubbock; and two brothers, Fred Martin and wife, Linda of Tahoka, and Bobby Martin and wife, Sherry of Lubbock.

I wish I could be there today but my thoughts and prayers are with my whole Martin family, during this difficult time. I'm so glad I was able to see Wayne a couple of weeks ago, when I was in town! He was such a sweet man and I know he will be greatly missed. Love you all!

Sincere condolences to Wayne's family. I knew him for many years - first when I was at PCCA and later at Wes-Tex Aircraft. He was a gentleman and a pleasure to be around. RIP, old friend. Your kind shall not pass our way often.

Prayers to the Martin family, did not know Wayne very long but he was a good neighbor and loved being on his team for the noon group at Lubbock Country Club. He will be remembered and missed.
