W. Don Bell, 78, passed away January 10, 2019, at his home in Pharr, TX.Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 15, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, 6025 82nd Street, Lubbock, TX with interment following at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery, 5740 19th Street, Lubbock. A time of fellowship and remembrance is scheduled Monday, January 14th from 5:00 to7:00 p.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel. Don was born in Vernon, TX to the late Milton and Juanita (Meredith) Bell of Abernathy. He and his wife, Lucy Bell, lived in Lubbock for many years and retired in Pharr, TX and Ruidoso, NM. He was a lifelong farmer, loved to travel and played tennis every day. He sang in the J Bar J Country Church choir in Ruidoso, NM, barbershop quartets in Lubbock and Pharr, and with the Gospelleers. He is survived by his wife, Lucy; daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Lee McCall of Shallowater; son, Mark Bell of Austin; daughter and son-in-law Wanda and Craig Alsup of Mission; seven grandchildren: Katy Fann; Amanda McCall; Adam McCall; Ryan & Abi Alsup; Ashley Alsup; Brianna Hagerman; and Kashanna Hagerman; and four great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marion Wooten; son, Creg Hagerman; and grandson, Jason Fann.
