The family of VaLoise Woodman Savage will host a gathering of family and friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Monday, April 01, 2024, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. A service to celebrate her life of 85 years is scheduled at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, followed by a graveside service at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery. She died peacefully on Wednesday, March 27, 2024.
VaLoise was born May 11, 1938, to W.T. and Bessie McAvoy Gober in Dumas, TX. She attended Dumas High School and was always a proud Dumas Demon. She spent many years working at Lubbock Cotton Oil until her retirement.
She loved to be surrounded by friends and family. She threw the best cook outs where everyone enjoyed her stuffed burgers and got to enjoy hearing her wonderful unique laugh.
VaLoise is survived by children, James Woodman and Tessa Yelvington. She was known as Momsie and will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Lauren Smith, Laine (Casey) Smith, Ty (Courtney) Yelvington, Melanie Decker, Angela (Lucas) Brink, Kourtney (Tim) Brock, Casey Woodman, and Mason Warnock; 15 great-grandchildren; her brother, Buddy Gober, a niece and two nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Pam Shobe, and brother, Sonny Gober.
The family would like to thank her many friends that have loved and supported her for so many years.
