Shorty was an accomplished musical artist and prominent member of the rap group Vital Squad; later becoming known as the artist Coldpiece while pursuing a solo career. He was a self-taught barber, winning several awards including Barber of the Year in Oklahoma where he earned his professional barber license. Growing up in Lubbock, as a youth, he was a talented athlete playing football, baseball and was an ABF amateur boxer at All American Boxing Club. In his late teen years, he lived in Kansas City, KS working as a dedicated employee in the shipping and mailing industry. On April 2nd 2012, he married Natasha Garza in Vernon, TX. Thereafter, moving to Altus, Oklahoma to continue his barber profession and to raise their family.Shorty was a fun-loving, kind-hearted person who loved to make people laugh. His quick-witted sense of humor was definitely one of a kind. He really loved music and writing lyrics was his favorite form of expression. Shorty never met a stranger as people were instantly drawn to his charismatic personality. He enjoyed spending time with his family and also considered his closest friends to be his family. Shorty was selfless, giving, and always ready to offer genuine words of encouragement and faith-based wisdom. Recently, he and his oldest son were holding Bible studies further strengthening his love and faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.Survivors include his wife, Natasha Suarez; their children, Val Michael Suarez, Ava Suarez, and Devin Suarez; a brother, Michael (Lisa) Suarez; a sister, Angela (Val) Gonzalez; and nieces and nephews, Jayden and Brooke Suarez and Val, Zaaron, Jimi and Vincent Gonzalez.
