Tim was born in Lubbock Texas January 11th, 1958.
He is preceded in death by his parents Willie Hubert Russell and Ruby Ann Stark Russell.
He is survived by Laurie Smerud, his brother Terry and his wife Lynita Russell, his sister Diann and her husband Tony Loggins,
niece’s and nephews Westley (Julia), Dalton (Caroline), Axton, Addilyn, Kristyn (Ryan), Anthony, Janet’, Graysen and Teagen.
Tim also loved his niece Brandi McNair- Ronk as an endeared daughter.
Tim was baptized into Christ around the age of 10 and was always ready to talk to The Lord in Prayer. He led us in Prayer just days before his death.
Tim loved The Lord with all of his heart and was eager to join Him in His Kingdom. He was a faithful servant of The Lord.
Tim married Joan Laurie Smerud in Lubbock, Texas March 12, 1976.
Tim attended Monterey High School and went on to South Plains College at Levelland to receive his Associate’s Degree.
He worked for Texas Instruments 10 years before rejoining his dad Hubert and brother Terry at Russell’s Business Machines.
Tim worked the business for many years.
Mama, Daddy, Terry and Tim really shared the joy and frustration of cars trucks and motorcycles and restoration of classic cars and engines.
Tim had a great love of animals and would never turn away a stray. He loved his cats especially Sealie, who with our thanks now resides with Laurie.
His talked of his favorite Dog Coda, (the musical term for the ‘tail’ of a song) until his last days.
Tim was very talented in music and his ability to play the guitar. Tim and Laurie, Diann and Dalton enjoyed many hours of playing and singing together.
Tim succumbed to a lengthy illness while residing at Lubbock Plaza on Wednesday, March 6, 2024.
Tim was a kind loving man with a gentle heart.
He said that he wanted to leave this world and join Mama, Daddy and Coda and be with The Lord.
A service to celebrate the life of Timmy Russell, 66 years of life is scheduled at 10:00am, on Saturday, March 9th, at 82nd and Ave V. Church of Christ.
