Larry Taylor left a message on June 28, 2019:
My name is Larry Taylor from Spokane, WA. I was Tim's roommate for a time in the Army at B co. 3/5 Cav in Ayer's Kaserne, Kirch gons Germany. Tim and I got pretty close and would spend a lot of time together when we had free time on the weekends. Tim loved to dance and taught me quite a few moves like "the running man" that we would use to impress the girls at the club, ha ha. He was always a very kind and genuine person. I was thinking about him yesterday so decided to look up his facebook page and was shocked when I learned the news. I feel blessed that I got to see him and catch up at our 25th anniversary Desert Storm reunion in 2016. I feel we are all very lucky and better off for knowing him. He will be missed by many of our veteran brothers. Until we meet again brother! Black Knights!
Tommy Smith left a message on June 27, 2019:
I am Tommy Smith from Idaho. I am so sorry for your loss! I served with Tim during the early 1990s. He was actually my roommate at The Rock for nearly a year. The Rock was an Army Post located in Kirchgoens, West Germany. We were part of a combat Brigade that was led by our Battalion. He and I spent a lot of time together and he proved his integrity & loyalty many times. During the Gulf War in 1991, Tim served honorably and pulled more than his own weight. He was always ready to take guard duty and stood on the front line directly engaging the Iraqi Republican Guard. Tim helped our Battalion, Task Force 3-5 CAV, defeat an entire brigade of the Tawaklna Republican Guard. I am sure that some of you have seen his medals. He earned them! I just found out today that Tim passed away. Another good friend of Tim's posted a message to our Battalion facebook page. There were a lot of nice comments left to honor Tim and I know that he will be missed. It was so great to catch up with Tim at our 25th anniversary reunion in 2016. That was the first time I had seen Tim in nearly 30 years. Tim was brave, smart, athletic, and above all a team player. I hope that this message provides some consolation. If we old veterans in the 3-5 CAV facebook page were aware that Tim passed away, you would have had dozens of veterans at the funeral. Thank you all for lending the USA Tim to serve as a WARRIOR for a few years. The world is better off for having had Tim serve his country.
