Teresa Moore was born December 12, 1952, in Abilene, TX to James Jackson and Rosie Lee Battles. Teresa grew up in Abilene, TX where she attended Carter G. Woodson and was an active member of the Cheerleading Team. She grew up attending church at Mt. Moriah where she sang in the church choir and enjoyed praise and worship. Teresa was a powerful woman of God, and she based her life according to the Bible.
Teresa moved to Lubbock, TX where she went on to continue her life as a loving wife, mother, and an amazing grandmother and great-grandmother. Teresa enjoyed spending time with her family and loved the Saturday morning garage sales. She raised a host of children throughout her life and was blessed with the privilege to adopt an amazing three-month-old baby boy that she adored.
She is survived by her husband, Kevin Dolph Moore of Lubbock, TX; sisters, Rosie Lee Mayers of Abilene, TX, and Eula Fay Reece and Lovie May Norman of Dallas, TX; sons, Rodney Jones of Houston, TX and Iverson Moore; daughters, LaDawn Jones, Crystal Jones, and Tracia Johnson; thirteen grandchildren, Sakeythia Jones, Treyvaun Price, Jasmyne Phenix, Sedrick Davis, Jr., Dadrian Humphrey, Marcus Powell, Keatric Humphrey, Julian Jones, Najae Montgomery, Katen Jones, Skylar Jones, Nadia Jones, and Roman Jones.
Teresa was proceeded in death by her mother, Rosie Lee Battles; father, James Jackson; grandmother, Ovell Battles; and grandfather, Jinks Battles.
Teresa Moore, 71, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024, in Lubbock, TX.
You have fought a good fight and have come to the end of a long hard journey. You have completed a great task, so rest now in peace. Rest in peace you so well deserve, until we meet in that great Promised Land.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Good Friday, March 29, 2024, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Celebration of Life services will follow on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at 3:00 pm. in Lake Ridge Chapel.
