Tari Lynn Groves

Tari Lynn Groves was born on September 22, 1956, in Omaha, Nebraska to Dorothy Alden and John Alden. Tari was the oldest child, with younger brothers Mark and Scott. In 1960, while Tari was still a toddler, the family moved to Hacienda Heights in Southern California.

The 1960’s were a particularly happy time for Tari growing up. The family spent many summer days at Huntington Beach and enjoyed visiting and exploring small towns in John’s plane while flying between California and Nebraska to visit family. Tari attended Hillgrove Elementary, Orange Grove Junior High, and graduated from Los Altos High School in 1974.

Tari had four sons, Rick Jr., John, Michael and Randall, whom she loved very much, from a previous marriage. Tari married Robert Groves on July 11, 1987, in Lubbock, Texas. She worked for University Medical Center for 20 years. Robert and Tari enjoyed travelling together and took numerous trips, the highlight being their trip to China where they walked on the Great Wall, toured Tiananmen Square, and the Forbidden City.

After a long battle with cancer, Tari passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, February 15, 2024, with her husband by her bedside. She is preceded in death by her parents John and Dorothy; previous husband, Rick Archer; son, Rick Archer, Jr.; and brother, Mark. Tari is survived by her husband Robert Groves; sons, John Archer and wife Jennifer, Michael Archer, and Randall Archer; grandchildren, Kyleigh and Shane; brother, Scott Alden and wife May, nieces, Akemi and Ayumi; and a sister-in-law, Susan Alden.
