There are no events scheduled. Stephen was born September 25, l970, in Anson, Texas. He graduated from Anson High School in 1989. He then attended Angelo State University for two years majoring in Agribusiness. For several years Stephen worked for his uncle in Brownfield before beginning employment with Sparkman’s Nursery in Lubbock. After leaving Sparkman’s he worked for John Deere Landscape until 2006, when he transferred to assist in the expansion of a new branch location in San Antonio. He worked at four different store locations in the San Antonio area and was made manager of the Nacogdoches Road location, one that he helped build. He was manager of this location at the time of his death.He was the happiest when spending time outdoors with his girlfriend, tending his new vineyard, and working in his garden. The past few years he had become a connoisseur of wine and spent many weekends at local wineries. One of Stephen’s passions was collecting John Deere tractors, and over the years he had amassed a very large collection.Stephen’s organs were donated to the Texas Organ Sharing Alliance.Stephen is preceded in death by his grandparents.He is survived by his long-time girlfriend, Renee Williams of Pipe Creek; mother and stepdad, Janice and Gary Kilgore of Lubbock; father, Ralph Simpson of Abilene; brother, Tracy Simpson of College Station; sisters, Shawna and Dustin Stover of La Vernia, and Lexia Simpson of Tennessee; nieces, Kim Simpson of Lubbock, and Paige Jackson of San Antonio; nephews, Eric Simpson of College Station, Tyler Lowry and Dylan Stover of La Vernia; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
