The family of Shayron Griffin will celebrate her life of 63 years at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, June 28, 2021, at Acton Methodist Church in Granbury, TX with a reception to follow. She passed on Sunday, June 20, 2021.On December 31, 1957, Shayron Elizabeth Griffin was born to Paddy Wayne and Nelda Virlene (Sharp) Griffin in Lubbock, TX. After overcoming cancer at the young age of 12, Shay went on to attend college at Texas Christian University, earning a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. Originally a resident of Hurst, TX she moved to Granbury, TX where she was proud to serve her community and country as a carrier and clerk for the US Postal Service for over 30 years. When she wasn’t carrying mail, she sang in many church choirs but her true passion and achievement in life was raising her daughter Kate.Survivors include her daughter, Kathleen “Kate” Biel and husband David; the light of her life, grandson, Griffin Dennis Biel; mother, Nelda Virlene Griffin; sister, Pamela Cox and husband Paul; and nephews, Pfc. Garrett Cox; AC2 John Cox and wife Katelyn.She was preceded in death by her father, Paddy Griffin.
