Sharan was born May 13, 1943, to Curtis and Mary Gooden Collins in Lubbock, TX. She married Joe Stephenson on August 11, 1962 at First Baptist Church in Odessa, Texas. Sharan grew up in Odessa, Texas, graduating from Odessa Permian High School in 1961. Upon marrying Joe Wayne, they moved to Lubbock, Texas,to begin their marriage of almost 61 years together. They lived in Lubbock for their entire life except, for a brief one-year period when they moved to Santa Barbara, California. She was a homemaker until her two daughters entered junior high school and elected to begin working in the LISD school system in order to be closer to her daughters. Her next career move was to Texas Tech working in Education Department and then moving to the Civil Engineering Department for the next 18 plus years. Retirement gave her the opportunity to become the ultimate “Grammie” and spoil her precious grandchildren endlessly! Sharan enjoyed spending time with their life long group of friends and wine time.
Sharan is survived by husband, Joe Stephenson; children, Christi Cai (Leon) Quimby, Lori Lyn (Rob) Healy; grandchildren TJ (Becca Birdwell) Alexander, Whitney (Troy) Tarrant, Jaxon Quimby, Kadie Quimby, Cooper
