Scott Preston Coffman, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother has passed away at the age of 62 at his home in Lubbock on February 8, 2024. A lifelong resident of Lubbock, Scott was born on December 19, 1961, to the late Jack Morris and Carole Katherine (Griffis) Coffman. Scott graduated from Lubbock High School and married the love of his life Lisa Freeman on June 25, 1988, in Lubbock.

Scott was a hardworking and dedicated man who found immense success as the owner of Carpet Barn.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Scott cherished his family above all else. He leaves behind his loving wife, Lisa, who stood by his side throughout their journey together. Together, they created a beautiful family that Scott held dear to his heart.

Scott was a proud father to his daughter, Tia (Jereme) Dupont, who brought immense joy to his life. His greatest joy came from being a doting grandfather to his grandchildren, Brynlee, Blaine, and Blair Dupont. He loved spending time with them, indulging in their laughter and creating cherished memories that will forever be treasured.

As a brother to Weldon (Rhonda) Coffman and Jackie (Gary) Myers, Scott held a special bond with his siblings. Other surviving family is his stepmother, Myrna Coffman and stepsister, Shannon Dickey,

Scott Preston Coffman will forever be remembered for his dedication to his family, his commitment to his business, and the love he shared with those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

How blessed am I to shared our years as family! My mother loved you all. She could be found on any porch with Scott right beside. Just as pictured. I knew I might be ok when Scott & I had a conversation, just us. Rare but treasured. He was a good man, exceptional Father, and lovable Grandfather. My greatest joy was watching him as a Husband and how about our Lisa. What a wonderful woman, their example of a true love. They do anything half way. Amazing rewards in a family, so many friends, & the strength they have together. I’m holding you all in my thoughts, prayers, & always in my heart.. God bless and keep you.

I was so saddened to hear of Scott's passing. Scott was a good man. He will be missed dearly. My condolences to Lisa, Tia, and the children. Rest in Peace friend.

I was blessed to know both Scott and Lisa, before they knew each other. Scott was a kind hearted, funny, hard working man. Lisa was a spirited, loyal hard working, fierce woman. I decided I needed to introduce these two. They forever became “Scott and Lisa”. They built a beautiful life together. I’m so sorry his was cut short, but I know he’ll be watching over Lisa, Tia and the grandbabies. We’re all blessed to have known him. He’ll live on in our hearts and in the memories he made with all of us. Lisa, my thoughts and prayers are going up for you guys. Love y’all.

I’m so sad to hear this. Lisa my prayers are going up for you and the family. Scott and I went to school together way back when…. Motorcycle racing and living basically across the street from you and Scott at Deborah Rays house in 2008. ❤️ I pray for strength and comfort for you 💔

Scott was a great cousin , easy going and kind . I remember going to Lubbock and he was the best motorcycle rider ever. He and , his sister Jackie , brother Weldon made our Summers a lot better when we came from Odessa to see them and their sweet mom Carole and dad Jack. He will always be remembered for his kindness and gentle soul. Scott will be missed by everyone 🙏🏻♥️

I met Mr. Coffman a few years ago; he wasn't very happy that day. He seems to be very grumpy, I was making a delivery to his store at that time. After several times the grumpy man turned out to be a great a person who treated me like a family member. Mr. Coffman introduced me to his lovely family whom he loved deeply. I'm grateful for sharing with me his wisdom, knowledge, and a great sense of humor. He will be missed deeply. I celebrate his life knowing he's in a better place in heaven.

My prayers and condolences to the family. I love the Coffmans as if they were my real family. I pray that God will give them the strength to carry on. Scott is now a guardian angel watching over us all.
