Ruth Evans

A service to celebrate the life of Ruth Evans, 84 years of life is scheduled at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Ruth was born on June 28, 1939, in Strengthford, Mississippi to Annie Lou Shows and Walter Gray Shows. Ruth loved being from a big family and was proud of her southern roots. Ruth loved to garden and cook and believed feeding you some good Southern food would always make anything better. Ruth loved animals and would feed any stray that came to her door. Her biggest joy in life was her grandchildren. Ruth worked as a waitress at the popular DunBar restaurant in San Angelo and was always very proud that she was able to support her family by herself for many years.

Ruth is survived by one son, Jason Sullivan, of Ozona, Texas, one daughter, Lenise Staha and husband Albert of Lubbock, Texas and four grandchildren; Shelly Morkovsky, Shaylla Staha, Brooklin Staha, and Jaci Staha; great-grandchildren, Kaleb Morkovsky, Jaylan Morkovsky, Laney Sullivan, Liam Sullivan, Georgia Morkovsky, Lyall Sullivan, Gage Diaz, Ryleigh Diaz and many nieces and nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Evans; daughter, Christine Hope Sullivan, Grandson; Bradley Cole Sullivan, father; Walter Gray Shows, mother; Annie Lou Fulton, brothers: Walter Shows and Clinton Shows, sisters: Joyce Chaffin, Bobbie Whitten, Katie Ware and Melba Faris.
