Rudy Hernandez passed away peacefully in Lubbock, Texas on Saturday, February 26, 2022.Rudy was born in Wilson County, Texas on March 22, 1929. He married Cenaida Pantoja in Post, Texas on November 17, 1949, and they were blessed with three sons and one daughter: Frank (Raquel) of The Woodlands, Texas, Robert (Karen) of Wichita, Kansas, Carlos (Shannon) of Manistee, Michigan, and Sindia (Terry) Narber of Wyoming, Michigan, eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Rudy had a long career in the farming, ranching, and beef cattle industry. Rudy began his adult working life on the Stoker, Bird, and Beach ranches in Garza County. Rudy and Cenaida subsequently moved to Garden City, Kansas in 1966 and Wyoming, Michigan in 2004, having an adventurous and glorious life, before returning to their Texas roots in Lubbock in 2016. Rudy was a first-rate storyteller and could spin a tale for hours on end. He also fancied himself to be a pretty darned good domino player.He is survived by his wife Cenaida, his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one brother, and two sisters. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Lake Ridge Chapel and graveside services will be conducted at Terrace Cemetery in Post, Texas on Saturday, March 5 at 2 PM.
