Ruben Padilla, a loving husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather, and respected member of his community, peacefully passed away on October 3, 2023. Ruben’s journey on this earth was filled with love, laughter, and a profound devotion to his family and friends.
Ruben, a man of unwavering commitment and dedication, spent 47 years working at United Super Markets, a testament to his strong work ethic and loyalty. He approached each day with a genuine kindness that touched the lives of all who knew him.
One of Ruben’s greatest joys came from spending time with his precious grandchildren. Their playful laughter and innocent smiles brought him immense happiness and rejuvenated his spirit. He reveled in creating lasting memories with them, whether engaging in his favorite hobbies, such as golf, or family time together. He also found solace in woodworking, immersing himself in the craftsmanship and artistry of his creations. Ruben took pride in his yard and spent countless hours nurturing its beauty through his passion for yard work.
Beyond his interests, Ruben’s caring nature, loving demeanor, thoughtful gestures, and sharp intellect defined him as a remarkable individual. Always ready to lend a helping hand and provide words of wisdom, he touched the lives of many with his genuine compassion and understanding.
Ruben’s steadfast love was exemplified through his 38 years of marriage to his beloved wife, Nidia. Their journey together was marked by mutual respect, unwavering support, and the shared dedication to nurturing a beautiful family. Their unconditional love provided a foundation upon which their children, Becky Prieto and husband, Edwin, and Mandi Pruitt, and husband, Arlin, thrived and flourished.
His adoring grandchildren will forever treasure Ruben’s memory, Ava Pruitt, Noah Prieto, David Prieto, and Andrew Pruitt, who will carry his legacy of love and kindness within their hearts.
He is survived by his siblings, Baltazar Padilla and wife, Avelina, Hector Padilla and wife, Sylvia, Yolanda Murillo and husband, Mario, and Angel Padilla and wife, Anabel, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ruben Padilla’s passing leaves an indescribable void in the hearts of those who loved him. May his legacy serve as a beacon of love, compassion, and wisdom, guiding us through the tough times and reminding us of the importance of cherishing life’s precious moments. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
The caring staff of the Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers will cremate his earthly remains per Ruben’s wishes.
