Rosendo Hernandez was born on November 24, 1950, to Joe and Pauline Valdez in Slaton, Texas. On April 28, 1967, Rosendo married the love of his life, Patsy Chavez in Slaton, Texas.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy Valdez; children, Yolanda Valdez, Rudy Valdez and wife, Bridgette, Eddy Valdez and wife, Patricia; mother, Pauline Valdez; grandchildren, Briana Cuneo and husband, Anthony, Gabriella Esquivel, Phillip Rangel and wife, Nicole, Rudy Valdez, Jr. Eddy Valdez, Jr., Natylia Valdez; great grandchildren, Kaleb Cuneo, Fabian Castillo, Jr., Gavin Castillo, Gianna Cuneo, and Ronnie Garcia, Jr.; siblings, Jessie, Tomas, Julian, and Steve Valdez, Josephine Montes, Linda Rodriguez, and Janie Garza.

He is preceded in death by his father, Joe Valdez.
