Roberta Ruth Carman, of Lubbock passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016. Roberta was an amazingly loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She shared grace and love with everyone she knew and met. She worked as a secretary and library aide in the LISD, retiring in 1999. She faithfully served beside her husband, Charles, wherever God took them. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 5, 2016, at the Lake Ridge Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, at Raintree Christian Church in Lubbock. Roberta served in ministry with Charles at Raintree Christian Church from 1971 to 2000. She married Charles Carman on February 7, 1964 in Oklahoma City, OK. She is preceded in death by her brother, Robert Barr; and two sisters, Donna Reed, and Bernice Flynn. She is survived by her husband, Charles Carman of Lubbock; sister Rebecca Kinney and husband, Russ of Ladysmith, WI; son, Dean Knight of Lubbock, TX; son, Stanley Carman and wife, Jo of Garland, TX; daughter Donna Mitchell and husband, Dan of Oronogo, MO; grandchildren, Andrea Cruce of Lubbock, TX; Taylor Knight of Vermont; Breanna Job and husband, Bronson of Langley, BC; Charles, Abigail, Hannah, Benjamin, Elijah, and Samuel Carman of Garland, TX; Madison, Emily, Claire, and Hunter Mitchell of Oronogo, MO; and great-grandson Julian Cruce of Lubbock, TX. Memorial donations may be made to the Raintree Christian Building fund in honor of Roberta Carman.
