The family of Robert Cosby will celebrate his life of 69 years at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at the Lakeridge United Methodist Church. He passed on Friday, October 8, 2021.On September 19, 1952, Robert Marion was born to Orris and Galena Cosby Jr. in Memphis, TX. He married Jane Kailey on March 26, 1977. He graduated from Texas Tech University with a BBA in finance. He was a member of Texas Tech Goin’ Band, Kappa Kappa Psi (Band honorary fraternity), Seminole Chamber of Commerce (president), Seminole City Council, Mayor of Seminole, Seminole ISD Board of Trustees, past president of Seminole Rotary Club, Lion’s Club, Permian Basin Regional Planning Commission, Permian Basin Bank Administration Institute (president), Boy Scout Master, and active in the First Methodist Church of Seminole. He was also awarded Seminole Citizen of the Year. After moving to Lubbock, he worked for City Bank where he helped establish their branch in Idalou, TX. He was a member of Idalou Lion’s Club and LakeRidge United Methodist Church.Bob loved being outdoors – fishing, golfing, hunting, and shooting sports. He greatly enjoyed high adventure activities such as sky diving and zip lines – anything that went fast. He also loved the Texas Tech Red Raiders, college sports, and his country. Most of all, Bob loved people, whether it was visiting with a stranger or catching up with old friends. Serving his community and helping those in need was important to him. He loved the Lord and his family deeply. They made many great memories of traveling and exploring the world together.Survivors include his wife, Jane Cosby; their children, Kay (Cody) Ainsworth, Julie (Jake) Washburn; siblings, Steve (Kim) Kailey, sister-in-law Barbara Kailey; Niece Elizabeth Kailey.He was preceded in death by his father, Orris Cosby Jr.; his mother, Galena Cosby; brother, Bill H.
