Rickey Dale Busbea was born June 22, 1954, to Everett and Bertha Agnes “Ruth” (Lockeby) Busbea in Seagraves, TX. He attended Lubbock High School.   He married Lena Donithan on June 23, 1975 in Lubbock, TX.   Rickey and Lena started their family and raised four boys in Lubbock.  Rickey began his career as a plumber for Armstrong Mechanical in 1980, where he worked until he retired in 2022.

Rickey’s passion for work, antiques and spending time with his grandchildren was known by all.  He was a stubborn man, but loved by many.

Rickey battled several cancers over the course of 13 years.  His doctor called him a walking miracle.  He was surrounded by family until his passing.

Mr. Busbea is survived by his wife, Lena Busbea; sons, Coy (Kandace) Busbea, Troy (Rosalee) Busbea, Eric (Jennifer) Busbea, and Chad (Megan) Busbea; and grandchildren, Kali Merickle, Halley Roberts, Tyler Busbea, Bristol Busbea, and Colton Busbea.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and two half-sisters.
