Richard Alan Goodgion was born February 16, 1950, to Walter Goodgion and Audrey Perdue Goodgion in Lubbock, TX. Rick was saved and Baptized in the Southern Baptist Church in Wolfforth, TX. Rick was an avid musician and songwriter, as well as an amazing sheet metal mechanic. One of his many achievements is the copper pedestal clock that still stands on Broadway Street in Lubbock to this day. Rick and his guitar were known and loved by many. He spent his time hanging out with family and friends, as well as playing music in the local honky-tonks in Lubbock and the surrounding areas in West Texas. As he was just an old guitar picker, he was bending the strings for many well-known bands such as; The Sundowners, Your Brother’s Uncle, and Reborn Country. And in true southern fashion, he went out with his boots on! Rick will be greatly missed, and his style will live on forever in our hearts.
Rick is survived by Neila Barret his girlfriend of twenty years; Children Kimberly Goodgion (Kenny), Kent and Ashley Goodgion. Grandchildren; Colton Goodgion (Nikki), Skylr Mahoney (Tapanga), Nique Goodgion, and Adaline Goodgion. And great-grandchild John Goodgion. Siblings; Judy Waller, Kevin and Carole Goodgion. As well as many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Audrey Goodgion, his sister Karen Jean Gatlin, his brother Randy Goodgion, and brother-in-law Jimmy (Red) Waller.
