The family of Ressa Hamilton will host a time of fellowship and remembrance from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, September 06, 2022, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. A celebration of her life of 43 years will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at Lake Ridge Chapel. She passed on Saturday, August 27, 2022. On November 11, 1978, Ressa Elizabeth Ewalt was born in Lubbock, TX. Her mother was Barbara Elaine (Holder) Ewalt, and her father is Robert Ewalt. She married Stephen Hamilton on August 14, 2004, in Lubbock.
Ressa was a graduate of Monterey High School in 1997. She then went on to pursue her undergraduate studies in Mass Communications at West Texas A&M University in Canyon, TX. Among one of Ressa’s proudest accomplishments was serving in the office of the United States Congressman Larry Combest in 1999 in Washington, DC. She then returned home and continued her studies at Texas Tech University.
Ressa was also a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Lubbock and frequently volunteered her time coordinating special events at the church. She loved serving the community there and kindled many friendships.
Ressa was a proud homemaker who enjoyed every moment of her time with the loves of her life, her children, Jaxon and Raygen, and her husband, Stephen. She loved spoiling her family frequently with their favorite treats, especially her homemade banana bread. Ressa was a fantastic baker and enjoyed perfecting her craft. Ressa was also a legendary hostess. Her heart for entertaining and her acute attention to detail made whomever she opened her home to feel welcomed, special, and loved. Ressa will be dearly remembered and missed by anyone fortunate enough to have crossed her path.
Survivors include her husband, Stephen Hamilton; their children, Jaxon Hamilton and Raygen Hamilton; father, Robert “Bob” Ewalt; siblings, Mark (Judy) Ewalt, Katherine (Nathan) Ewalt-Camenfort, Karen (Rusty) White, Kent Ewalt, and Chuck (Kim) Ewalt; and nieces, Rachel Poole, Erin Ewalt, and Payton Ewalt and Joahana, Kia and Echo Camenfort.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Elaine Ewalt.
