Ray Taylor was born near Argyle, TX, on Feb. 19, 1942. He attended and played football at Northwest High School and later at North Texas University. He married Katie Archer on Jan. 17, 1970, and was married 46 years. He owned and operated Taylor Mechanical for over 30 years. Ray was a kind and loving man as he was always putting the needs of his family before his own. Taking care of his wife and family, Ray gave selflessly of himself his entire life. Ray courageously battled cancer for 24 years. During all of the treatments, procedures, scans and hospitalizations, he never stopped smiling or joking. He was a strong man and true to his nature, he never wanted anyone around him to know what he was going through. As courageous as ever, Ray was preparing to leave to see his grandkids and their various sporting events when he suffered a heart attack. Five days later he closed his eyes on earth for the last time. Ray will be missed beyond measure. His family finds comfort in God’s Mercy and Grace. Free of the pain he suffered while fighting cancer, Ray is now enjoying the peace of everlasting life in the presence of his Savior.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Leonard Taylor, Sr. and Ethel Fern Taylor; and siblings, Mary Dill and James Taylor.
