Born on December 4, 1947, in Lubbock, Pete spent his entire life in the town he loved. He dedicated 30 years of his life to the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad, where he worked tirelessly as a trackman. His commitment and hard work earned him the respect of his colleagues. A proud Army veteran, Pete served his country with honor and dedication. On April 2, 1971, Pete married the love of his life, Adela, and together they raised two daughters, Denise and Megan. Pete adored his grandkids, Rose, Timothy Jr., and Adaline, always lighting up in their presence.
An enthusiastic Dallas Cowboys fan, Pete’s love for football was evident in his unwavering support for his team. He also found solace in listening to Tejano music and enjoyed kicking back with a cold drink in hand, welcoming friends with open arms and a warm smile. Pete’s kind heart and willingness to help others endeared him to all who knew him. He never met a stranger, offering a helping hand to those in need.
He will be dearly missed by his daughters, Denise (Timothy) Rodriguez and Megan Gomez; grandchildren, Rose and Timothy, Jr. Rodriguez and Adaline Gomez; a sister, Maria Luisa Guerrero and a brother, Emilo Gomez.
Pete was preceded in death by his wife, Adela Gomez, parents, Nicola and Rosa Gomez; and siblings, Beatriz Lopez, Vicca Arce, Mike Gomez, Jimmy Gomez, Joe Gomez, Nick Gomez, Jr.
Pete passed away on Wednesday August 7th, 2024.
