Patricia Ann Mankins (Pat) passed from this life and into the arms of Jesus on December 28, 2022, at the age of 83.
Pat was born on March 5, 1939, to A.O. Smith Sr. and his wife Katherine Muriel in Becton, Texas. She graduated from Lorenzo High School, and shortly thereafter, she became a military wife by marrying James Orville Mankins on June 5, 1956, in Lorenzo, TX. They had been married for 64 years. They traveled across the country together wherever the Navy led them. Pat worked as an aide, secretary, and librarian in the education system. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking, reading books, and, most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Pat was the backbone of her family and the glue that held them all together. She had an unending love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered as a kind, compassionate, caring, and giving person who always had a smile and loved life.
Pat is survived by her children Kimberly Sava, her husband Scott, James Scott Mankins, his wife Tura, and Kathy Plank. Grandchildren Charli Mowery and husband Adam, Bo Hunter and wife Misty, Kristin Cox and husband Brandon, Sammy Clark and husband James, Adam Hunter and wife Loren, and Jonathan Welch. Great-grandchildren; Destinee Clark, Harley Pittman, Tristyn Clark, Bella Hunter, Chloe Mowery, Avery Clark, Cooper, and Kinsley Cox. Her brothers A.O. Smith Jr. and his wife Tricia, Gary Smith and his wife Millie, and many nieces and nephews.
She is proceeded in death by her parents A.O. Smith Sr. and Katherine Muriel, husband James Orville Mankins, her sister Betty Smith, her sister Brooxie Anthony; her brother Bobby Smith and her son-in-law Randell Eugene Plank, her daughter Kathy Plank’s husband who passed away on December 19, 2022.
