Patricia Lee Tucker

Patricia (Pat) Lee Tucker passed away peacefully on March 24, 2024, in Lubbock, TX.

She was born on November 30, 1945, to David and Betty Powell in Durango, Co. She moved from Colorado to Texas in the early 1960s when she married Clyde Walden and remained in San Angelo for most of her life. She married James (Jimmy) Tucker in 1981. She worked at GTE for many years, then for TDC Supply and Tucker Drilling Company. Once she retired, she began volunteering at the Crockett Elementary library and then took a position in the office at Bowie Elementary. It was her favorite job as she loved working with the kids, parents, and teachers. She retired from the school system after 10 years and enjoyed traveling with her husband, Jimmy in their camper. Her husband passed shortly before her in 2023. Pat suffered from a frontal lobe brain tumor in the last few months of her life and moved to Lubbock so she could be closer to family.

The family would like to thank the staff at Wilshire Place on 4th and the staff of Grayce Enhanced Hospice. The staff was kind, caring and treated Pat with humor and affection. We would also like to thank her friend, Norma Hernandez for the kindness and friendship shown before she moved to Lubbock.

Pat is survived by her daughter Catherine Tucker and fiancée Joe Calvey of Chicago, Il, her stepdaughter Dee Ann Cullum and husband Dell of Hardwick, MA and stepdaughter Tracey Gregory and husband Jamey of Lubbock. As well as her brother Mike Powell and sister-in-law Patty of Wyoming and sisters-in-law Sandy Griffin with husband Don and Nancy Tucker.

There are three grandsons, Jake Gregory and wife, Sara, Justin Gregory and wife. Haylee and Jaden Gregory all of Lubbock plus three great-granddaughters, Lettie, Blake and Parker Gregory and numerous nieces and nephews. In accordance with mothers’ wishes there will be a private ceremony held later in the year in Durango, Co.
