The family of Orwinelle Andress will celebrate her life of 83 years at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at Bacon Heights Baptist Church. Her family will host a time of fellowship and remembrance from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 29, 2021, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. She passed on Wednesday, March 17, 2021. Worth, Texas. She grew up in Lubbock, Texas, and was part of the first graduating class of Monterey High School. Orwinelle graduated with her bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University. She started her career with the Lubbock Independent School District as a school secretary and then became an English and Reading teacher at Alderson and Smylie Wilson Junior High Schools. Orwinelle finished her career in the Personnel Department with the Lubbock Independent School District central office. She was a founding and dedicated member of Bacon Heights Baptist Church.Survivors include her children, Mike Andress and wife Wenona, Melanie Andress, Mark Andress and wife, Jeannie; grandchildren, Jeffrey Andress and wife Jade, Matt and Hank Fowler, and Oliver, Tulley, and Charlotte Andress; and great-grandchildren, Scarlett Hoker, and Bruce Andress.She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Mickey Andress, and her parents, Orwin and Mary Lambert.
