Omar Patrick Godinez passed away Wednesday, April 18 at age 64. We will gather for a rosary service and remembrance to celebrate his life at 6 PM, Sunday, April 22, at Lake Ridge Chapel, 6025 82nd St, Lubbock, Texas, 79424. Mass is at Christ the King Cathedral in Lubbock, 10 AM on Monday, April 23, and interment will immediately follow the mass at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park where he will be buried next to his father, Fortino Bedoy Godinez, Jr.
Omar was a talented and creative film and digital color specialist, some regarded him as the best in the country; a true artist and professional. He had a big heart, and profound passion for family, golf and food. He was a kind and thoughtful man with a wonderful sense of humor. Omar was born on April 15, 1954 to Fortino Bedoy and Belia (Gonzalez) Godinez in Houston.
He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Juilanna; brother, David Joseph; father, Fortino Bedoy Godinez, Jr.; uncles, Dr. Carlos Godinez and Lou Gonzalez; and grandparents.
Omar is survived by his mother, Belia Godinez of Pharr, Texas; brothers, Brian, Adrian and Fortino Godinez; sister, Cynthia Riggs; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
