The family of Odeene Wynell Green will celebrate her life of 92 years at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Odeene Wynell Green, 92, of Lubbock, Texas went to be with the Lord on June 15, 2021. She was born on June 29, 1928, in Sagerton, Texas, to Mary Alice Johnson and James “Ed” Newton. She was married to Roland W Green and had two children Judy and Larry.

Odeene was a dedicated Christian and strong in her faith. She loved spending time with her family and socializing with her friends.

She was very strong-willed and wasn’t afraid of anything. She was the glue to her family, and she will be immensely missed.

Odeene is survived by her daughter, Judy Carpenter; three grandchildren, Jill Rose, Jennifer McCarty, and Jason Shive; great-grandchildren, Kambrey Bailey, Kynsie Johns, Karrson Rose, Brooke, and Hunter Waters, Austin McCarty, Chase Shive, and Bryson Shive. great-great-granddaughter, Allisyn (her Allibug) and great-great-grandson, Laken; her brother, Sam Newton; and many more extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Alice Johnson and Ed Newton; her husband, Roland W Green; son, Larry Green; son-in-law, Derrell Carpenter; granddaughter, Dawn Shive; and her brothers, James “Jabbie” Newton, JR Newton, and Ronald Gene Newton; and numerous friends.
