The family of Nigel Wimberly will celebrate his life of 35 years at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Lake Ridge Chapel. His family will host a time of fellowship and remembrance from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. He passed on Wednesday, June 8, 2022. We invite you to view the live-streamed service and sign his virtual guestbook on this page.On September 11, 1986, Nigel Thomas Christopher Wimberly was born in Dumas, TX. He was raised in Clovis, NM till the age of nine, then the family moved to Lubbock, TX in 1995. Nigel was a TRUE gamer. He loved to roll play with his close friends every Wednesday and Friday. He loved playing video games with his brother, and it was never unusual to find him playing video games or on the floor playing board games with his niece and nephew. There wasn’t a time that you didn’t see him with a handheld game in his hand.  His favorite thing to do was to eat BBQ while visiting with his family. Nigel was one of those young men who looked up to his dad, his dad was his hero.Survivors include his parents, Sonny, and Kathie Spahr; sister Jessica Preast, brother Brandon Wimberly, nieces and nephews Aalisha, Zachariah, Aiden, Scarlett, and Ezio and grandfather, Jerry Spahr. Aunts and Uncles; Diane (Doyle) Lohman, Gerri Griego, Dorothy (Mike) Shoman, Carla Spahr, Raymond Christian, Gloria Christian, TJ (Cathy) Wimberly, (Uncle Cool J) John (Sandy) Wimberly, Charles (Gloria) Wimberly, Wanda Wimberly, Bobby Wimberly, (His Annie) Angela (David) Eggers. And numerous cousins.   Also, his dearest friends Conner McCarthy, Lance (Sarah) Hurbert, Zayne James, Brendon Lewis, Jason Spinks, Karen Guthrie-Keele, and his childhood best friend and cousin Kenneth Eggers.Preceding Nigel in death were his great grandmother Myrtle Christian, grandmother Pauline Spahr, Grandfather John T. Wimberly, grandmother Sandra Ammons, and his aunt Debra Wimberly-Bender.The family invites everyone in attendance to join them for a catered meal following the service at Lake Ridge Chapel and also requests that everyone dresses casually, just as Nigel would.
