Nell M. Kenmore passed away Friday, April 27, 2018. We will gather for fellowship and remembrance from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life of 88 years on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at 10 AM at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Burial will follow in Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Dimmitt at 2:30 PM.
Nell was born on December 30, 1929, to Richard and Mary (Barker) McMahon in Dimmitt, TX. On July 31, 1947, she married Darrell Kenmore in Hereford, Texas. They lived in Dimmitt for many years before moving to Lubbock in 1975. Nell received an Associate’s degree from South Plains College and attended Texas Tech University. She worked as a Certified Tumor Registrar for numerous hospitals in Lubbock and was an active member of First Baptist Church and the Cornerstone Sunday school class. She was an excellent seamstress and had an impeccable eye for interior design. Nell enjoyed gardening, floral arranging and decorating many doctor’s offices.
She was preceded in death by her parents, all of her siblings and a son-in-law.
Nell is survived by her loving husband of seventy years, Darrell; son, Ronnie Kenmore and wife Connie of Muleshoe; daughter, Paulette Kenmore of Lubbock; four grandchildren, Matt Wagner, Ryan Bast, Chris Kenmore, and Kendra Thomas, and five great-grandchildren.
