Nancy Ann Poteet was born at home on February 28, 1934, in Lubbock, Texas, to the late John Scott and Elinor Donnell Hollingsworth. She graduated from Lubbock High School and attended Texas Technological College majoring in Home Economics. She married Jimmie Poteet on July 23, 1953, in Lubbock, Texas.
Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jim, to whom she was married for 59 years, 3 months and 2 days, and by her son, Danny Poteet of Reston, Virginia.
Nancy is survived by her daughter Pam A. Valko and husband George of Beaver, PA, daughter-in-law Clytie Catrett of Reston, VA, and daughter Melinda A. Alexander and husband Warner of Ft Worth, Texas. She has six grandchildren: Kami Land and husband Micah, Sarah Brock, Evan Poteet, Trey Scott and wife Hannah, Sterling Scott and Winston Scott and wife Sydney. She has five great- grandchildren: Piper and Lucy Land, Hudson Bilbrey and Annslie and Canyon Scott.
Nancy was a housewife and mother for sixteen years followed by 40- year career in banking. She loved to read, play games, cook and go to gatherings with friends and neighbors. She was a faithful member of the Lake Ridge Ladies and Sunset Church of Christ. Nancy was an avid genealogist and proud and active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Colonial Dames, spending much time and energy researching her family history. Family and faith were extremely important to Nancy and even in her later years when her memories were just out of reach, she continued to speak of her family and her deep faith in God.

Nancy passed from this life on December 29, 2023, at the age of 89 years, and at the time of her death she resided in Saginaw, Texas.
