Michael Barber, lovingly known as “Bubba” passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018. We will gather for fellowship and remembrance from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life of 34 years on Monday, June 11, 2018, at 10 a.m., at Lake Ridge Chapel.
Bubba was born on August 1, 1983, to Richard Wyley and Chong “Oaki” Barber in Huntsville, AL. He graduated from Frenship High School and received a bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University. On December 4, 2010 he married his true love Hayley Artz in Lubbock, Texas. Bubba was an amazing husband and in 2013 their daughter Myrcea was born in Arlington, TX. He was the most dedicated father and did everything in the world for his two girls. He had recently moved the family back to Lubbock in order to have more family around and pursue his career in the oilfield. The vehicle accident that took his life was sudden and tragic but he is now dancing with the Angels. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and abundance of friends.
He was preceded in death by father, Richard Wyley Barber. Bubba is survived by his loving wife, Hayley Barber; daughter, Myrcea Barber; mother, Oaki Barber of Daleville, AL; brother, Steve Barber of Lubbock; sister, Marie Barber of Amarillo; and ten nieces and nephews.
