On Monday, January 15, 2018, Michael Glenn Sims lost his courageous battle with cancer at the age of 57 years young.

Michael, also known as “Mike”, “Daddy”, “Pop”, and “Uncle Mike” grew up in Merkel, Texas. He graduated from Merkel High School in 1979. Michael met the love of his life, Laurie Bradshaw, in Odessa, Texas. They were married in 1983, and he began his career in the oilfield industry. As an avid golfer, Mike held a membership with the Levelland Country Club, where he made many life-long friends. He will forever be remembered as an incredibly gentle and sweet soul who, above all else, treasured his family.

Survivors include his wife, Laurie Ann Sims; mother, Betty Lynn Sims; daughters, Brandi Ezell and husband, Chase; Chelsea Sims and Adrian Moreno; grandchildren, Kyler and Kennedy Ezell; and Brenleigh Moreno; siblings, Jackie Sims and wife, Lynn; Kenny Sims and wife, Cindy; and Cindy Hodges and husband, Matt.

He was preceded in death by his father, J. C. Sims.

Mike opened a carreer path for me which allowed me to live a very comfortable and happy life in Texas. I will always be greatful for the chance he gave me. He will be dearly missed by all of us! Rest in peace

Mike was one of my absolute favorite managers to work with at Forum. He brought his heart into every conversation and was forever respectful . I enjoyed his Texas sized sense of humor.
