Melba Jo Perry passed away Thursday, June 14, 2018. We will gather for fellowship and remembrance from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, June 18, 2018, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life of 81 years on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at 1 p.m. at Monterey Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the Crosbyton Cemetery, in Crosby, Texas, at 3 p.m.
Melba Jo was born on March 15, 1937, to Fred and Lola Garvin Dawson in Roaring Springs, Texas. On December 14, 1956, Melba married the love of her life, Clayton in Afton, Texas. She was a faithful member of Monterey Baptist church for 56 years & loved God and her church family there. After God Melba adored her family & her life revolved around her grandchildren and great grandchildren and their activities. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten and is in now in Jesus’ loving arms.
Survivors include her son, Mark Perry and wife, Thelma; daughter, Cheryl Ann Kendall and husband, James; three granddaughters, Barbara Jo Dorman and husband, Donnie, Amber Mixon and husband, Kevin; and Amie Wilde and husband, Curtis; two grandsons, Joshua Freeman and wife, Amber; and Justin Kendall and wife, Rebecca; four great-granddaughters, Baylee, Rylee, Karlee, and Piper; eight great-grandsons, Carter, Kaiden, Luke, Camron, Ethan, Draven, Graham, and Owen; sister, Carolyn Willis and husband, Alton; and brother, Bill Dawson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred P. and Lola Velma Dawson; husband, Clayton Winfred Perry; siblings, Don, John, Stanley, Bobby, and Melborn Dawson; Helen Jean Dawson; and grandson, Carson Claybourn Dorman.
