Marsha Kirksey

The family of Marsha Kirksey will host a visitation for family and friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 24, 2023, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. A service to celebrate her life of 74 years is scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Lake Ridge Chapel, followed by a graveside service at the City of Lubbock Cemetery. Marsha Jane (McCurry) Kirksey was born September 11, 1948, to Douglas Dorrell and Maurine Jean McCurry in Lubbock, Texas.  She married Gary D. Kirksey on May 15, 1970, at the First Christian Church in Lubbock, Texas.

Marsha attended Texas Tech University where she was a member of the Tri-Delta Sorority and was voted a University Beauty.  She then attended Angelo State University, graduating in 1971 with a bachelor’s degree in Business. Marsha was a loving-devoted wife to her husband Gary and a committed mom to her children, James and Jennie.  She was an elite travel agent and for several years prior to her retirement she owned her own agency.  Marsha was well known and appreciated for her wonderful ability to bestow unconditional love and heartfelt care to those she encountered on a daily basis.

Marsha is survived by her husband, Dr. Gary D. Kirksey; children, James Douglas Kirksey and Jennie Delight Latch; granddaughter, Ashlin Grace Latch, and her father Carlton Latch; grandson, Klayton Clark Kirksey and his mother, Mindy Barnett.
