Mark Wayne Lee passed away at the age of 63. Mark was born to Dellas and Mary Lee on November 7, 1960, in Surrey, B.C., Canada. He lived in Lubbock since 1975.
He was an Eagle Scout. He graduated from Coronado High School, and from Texas Tech with a Fine Arts Degree. He was a gifted potter.
He married Robin Denise Brown on July 11, 1981. They were blessed with three beautiful children—their daughter Alexandra, and sons Nathaniel and William. They enjoyed traveling, hiking, and camping together. Robin passed away in 2011, which had a big impact on Mark’s life. Mark was left to raise the children.
Mark loved to travel, hunt and fish. He restored Volkswagens.
He loved people and everyone loved Mark. He loved plants and worked as a nurseryman most of his life. He built and operated Slide Plant Market and was a great gardener.
Mark is survived by his children—daughter Alexandra Lee, and his sons Nathaniel and William Lee; his parents Dellas and Mary Lee; his brothers Timothy (Pauline); Randal (Lisa); Benjamin (Hope); sister Anna Johnson; nephews Aiden Johnson; James Lee; Jacob Lee; and nieces Calla Johnson; Samantha Lee and Jasmine Padilla Carrol Lee.
Mark was preceded in death by his dear wife Robin, and his brother Howard.
Mark was a happy spirit. He had a very gentle, loving heart and will be so missed by his family and his many friends and his beloved yorkies— “Plum” and “Bet” and Pug, “Mourd.”
