Obituary

The family of Marcelo Vargas, Sr. will gather to recite the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers.  Mass will be celebrated in honor of Marcelo’s life of 64 years at 10:00 AM, Thursday, December 30, 2021, at San Ramon Catholic Church. On January 16, 1957, Marcelo Vargas, Sr. was born to Marcial and Martha (Salazar) Vargas in Durango, Mexico. He married Rosalva “Rose” Vasquez on February 23rd 1977 in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico. He will be remembered for bringing smiles, laughter, and words of encouragement to every space he walked into. He loved his family and had a passion for his goats, sheep, cow, roosters, and chickens. He was a hard worker and lived every day to its fullest.

Survivors include his wife, Rosalva “Rose” Vargas; their children, Marcelo Vargas, Jr., Martha Vargas-Herrera and husband Martin, Alma Vargas, and Ricardo Vargas; grandchildren, Aaron Vargas, Adrian Vargas, Devin Lopez, Alliyana Herrera, Nadiah Herrera, Johnny Maldonado, Isaiah Maldonado, Cameron Vargas, Jazlynn Vargas, Aryana Vargas, Evalani Vargas; great-grandchild, Malani Vargas; siblings, Paulina Vargas, Refugio Vargas, Nicolas Vargas, Lucia Vargas, Isidra Vargas, and Marcial Vargas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Paulina Vargas.
