On Saturday, March 30th, 2024, Lonnie D. Winters, loving Husband, Father of four children, and Pop to eight grandchildren, passed peacefully at 74.
Lonnie was born July 21, 1949, in Granite, Oklahoma to Lloyd and Mildred (Groves) Winters where he was raised on a farm in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma. Lonnie graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1971 where he received his degree in Ag Business. His 47-year career in the cotton industry consisted of gin manager and cotton buyer until he retired in 2018 as Vice President of Marketing at PCCA. Lonnie ended his career as a well-respected friend, mentor, boss, and partner. On April 12, 2002, he married the love of his life, Donna McDowell. The two merged their families; his daughter Brandie Winters, Donna’s two sons, Eric and Justin Andrew, and her daughter, Meagan Stockton.
Lonnie enjoyed fishing, hunting, and sometimes golf, but he was most passionate about meticulously maintaining his beautiful lawn. When not maintaining his lawn, many of Lonnie and Donna’s weekends were spent driving around and inspecting cotton crops, especially after any kind of harsh weather. Lonnie loved spending time with his family and was so proud of all the successes in his children’s lives.
Lonnie was preceded in death by his father and mother, Lloyd and Mildred Winters, and his brother Doug Winters. He is survived by his wife Donna Winters, his daughters Brandie Winters, and Meagan Stockton and husband Rusty Stockton, his sons Eric Andrew and wife Andrea Andrew, Justin Andrew and wife Michelle Andrew, his brother Randy Winters and wife Vicki Winters, and eight grandchildren, Sydney Winters, Londyn Andrew, Brynley Andrew, Taylor Andrew, Todd Andrew, Toby Andrew, Allie Stockton, and Dane Stockton.
Visitation services will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, April 4th, 2024, at Lake Ridge Chapel & Memorial. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, April 5th, 2024, at Lake Ridge Chapel & Memorial followed by graveside services at Peaceful Gardens.
