Lola Kathryn Hucks passed away Saturday, March 10, 2018. We will gather for fellowship and remembrance from 7 to 9 PM Thursday, March 15, 2018, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life of 81 years on Friday, March 16, 2018, at 2 PM at Monterey Church of Christ.

Kathryn was born on December 14, 1936, to L. C. and Eunice Allen in Walters, OK. On November 22, 1952, Kathryn married the love of her life, David Hucks in Levelland, Texas. David and Kathryn went on to have 4 children: Brenda, Debbie, Terry and Shawn. Kathryn worked as a nurse’s aide for many years at St. Mary’s Hospital. Kathryn was a long standing member of Monterey Church of Christ where she was an active member of New Horizons Sunday School class. She loved spending time with family and cooking for everyone. Kathryn was a loyal Red Raiders’ and Texas Rangers fan, watching as often as she could.

Survivors include her three children, daughter, Debbie Yoakum of Lubbock; sons, Terry Hucks and wife, Mindy of San Angelo, and Shawn Hucks of Lubbock; ten grandchildren, Austin Hucks, Braden Hucks, and Dustin Hucks; Heather Madlock and husband, Jerry of Boerne; Holly Mayfield and husband, Neal of Denton; Chad Stallings and wife, Beth; Kim Sullivan and husband, Tony; Michelle Brodbeck, Joe Williamson and wife, Tana; and K.D. Jaycon and husband, Cody all of Lubbock; six great-grandchildren, Shanee Hucks, Taylor Madlock, Cason Hucks, Taryn Madlock, Madison Douglass and Easton Mayfield; and two brothers, Venoy Allen of Lubbock, and Billy Allen and wife, Brenda of Anchorage, AK.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, two brothers, Troy Allen, and Jimmy Allen, and one sister, Jean Mitchell.

I have been very fortunate to know and befriend the Hucks family. Kathryn was often the glue that held this sweet family together. What a fine sweet mom and friend! She loved quietly and strongly, a good woman of God. I know that she is enjoying her reunion with her kind husband, David. God bless all of the Hucks extended families. You have added tremendously to my life and many others.
