Linda Sue, born in Odessa, Texas, on December 27, 1950, to Bill and Virginia Routh, will always be remembered for the love and kindness she showed her family and friends. Linda attended WTSU, where she met the love of her life, Ralph Loerwald. She married Ralph on December 30, 1971, in Seminole, Texas. Linda graduated from WTSU, and she and Ralph began their adventures across Texas. They greatly contributed to each community in which they became a part. Graham, Texas, was a pivotal town for them, as this is where they began their family with their two children, Wayne and Megan. Linda took the role of motherhood with pride, love, and joy. Denver City, Texas, was a significant town for the family. Linda taught all grade levels and was very influential to all that were lucky enough to have her as a teacher. The same love and devotion she showed her family, she showed every student. Life-long friendships were made in this small Texas town. Linda and Ralph finished their teaching careers in Sealy, Texas. Their final Texas move was to Lubbock, Texas. The opportunity to be closer to family was a major factor. Soon after moving, Linda became a grandmother again. “Ma” beamed with that same pride, love, and joy when it came to her grandchildren. Family activities such as Christmas, Easter, Pumpkin carving, and birthdays, Ma always made sure the celebrations were nothing but amazing. Even the smallest of accomplishments were celebrated in grand fashion. It seemed like everyone knew Linda as Ma, and she became an honorary grandmother to so many. Again, she showed true love to them as well. There was nothing Linda wouldn’t do for her family. Many survived on her prayers. Linda lost her soul mate in December 2021. She was missing half of her soul. The fact they are back together brings peace and comfort to us all. That reunion had to be amazing!!
Survivors include her children, Megan and husband Chris Espach, Wayne Loerwald and wife Julie; grandchildren, Alexandria Roberts, AJ Espach, Erica Baker, Jaeden Curl, JL Espach, Nathan Morales, Ethan Morales, Keegan Martin, Bennett Espach; and a great-grandchild, Amelia Patrenella.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Loerwald; father Bill Routh; mother Virginia Routh; brother Bobby Routh; and sister Gail Dyess.
