LaVerne Mouser was born in Knox City, Texas on March 9, 1932 and lived in Obrien until she was 10, when her family bought a farm in Hale Center, Tx. She was very active in school and proudly graduated from Hale Center High in 1949.
LaVerne worked in Plainview where she met and married her husband, Don Mouser, and together they grew the Mouser Agency into one of the most successful Independent Agencies in Texas.
In 1987, LaVerne and Don moved to Lubbock where both their children and grandchildren lived. They joined Indiana Avenue Baptist Church and LaVerne became a very involved and active member of her Sunday School class,
but spent most of her time on or President of the Benevolence Committee, a job she dearly loved. In her spare time, she spent her time sewing for her grandchildren and doing special and new things with her daughter, especially when her daughter lived in Dallas, as well as spending time with her entire family and doing fun things like watching her grandsons play sports. LaVerne loved any occasion that brought her entire family together, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas. Besides her unwavering faith in God and His Son, her Savior Jesus Christ, nothing was more important to LaVerne than her family.
LaVerne was always the calm in the storm for her family and friends alike, and everyone who knew her was better for it. LaVerne was a devoted wife, an amazing mother, a wonderful and fun grandmother and an awesome great grandmother, as they said about her. As a family, we are so grateful for every minute God allowed us to have her on this earth before He called her to her eternal home, where we will all be together again one day.
LaVerne was preceded in death by her husband Don, her parents and two brothers. LaVerne is survived by her daughter Kathy Mouser of Lubbock, son Dale Mouser and wife Rosanna of Lubbock, 3 grandchildren, Melinda Klein and husband Jonathan of Lubbock, Alli Howard and husband Jason of Ft. Worth, and Dustin Mouser of Las Vegas, NV. She is also survived by 8 great grandchildren, Alec and Ethan White, Caitlin, Camron and Ashlynn Klein, all of Lubbock and Harper Howard and twins Bailey and Ellis Howard, all of Ft. Worth and her twin brother Lloyd Wright of Oakton, VA, as well as many nieces and nephews.
