Lauren Elise Roach Hawthorne finished her race and went home on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at the age of 26. Born on October 12, 1989 in Morgantown, WV, Lauren grew up in Lubbock, TX and graduated from Lubbock Christian University with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She met her husband, Trent Hawthorne, in the Praise Choir at LCU. Trent and Lauren were married for almost two years and were currently residing in Artesia, NM. Lauren worked as the Assistant Director and a teacher for the Hermosa Bright Beginnings Preschool, and had almost completed a Masters Degree in Reading Specialty from the University of Texas at Tyler. Among Lauren’ survivors are her husband, Trent Hawthorne; her parents, David and Becky Roach; her sister, Lindsey Roach Holt and husband Heath; her parents in-law, Vince and Michelle Hawthorne; her brother-in-law, Brett Hawthorne; maternal grandparents, Farrell and Carol Stephens; paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Anita Roach; grandparents-in-law, S.C. and Andrea Morrow and Viola Hawthorne; dozens of uncles, aunts, and cousins; and countless friends and loved ones. Lauren was never of this world, and now she is singing with the angels, gazing upon the face of the Savior for whom she lived her life.
