Joy was born on November 28, 1929 to Clury and Mary Hazel (Holley) Phillips in Clarendon, Texas. She graduated from Olton High School and on July 9, 1948 she married the love of her life, Milford Lambright at the First Baptist Church, Olton. They farmed in Olton from 1948 until 1964 and then moved to Pringle. Milford was injured in a harvesting accident in 1973, and Joy stayed by his side caring for him and worked with him following his recovery, serving farmers through their seed business, Dekalb Seed. After retirement they moved to Lubbock and joined Calvary Baptist Church. Joy enjoyed sewing, making quilts, having a vegetable garden and working in her yard. Along with her parents, Joy was preceded in death by husband, Milford E. Lambright on June 17, 2015. Joy is survived by a son, Larry E. Lambright and wife Kathy; a daughter, Cheryl A. Krey and husband John; four grandchildren, Marc Lambright and wife Angel, Kristi Satterfield and husband Bruce, Conner Krey and wife Kathy, Kalie Thompson and husband Jason, ten great grandchildren, Derek Lambright, Maegan Lambright, Abagail Satterfield, Jacob Thompson, Emerson Satterfield, Oliver Krey, Elliott Krey, Alison Thompson, Hazel Krey, and Grayson Thompson, and three sisters, Mary Hazel Maddox and husband Cecil, LaNelle Waldrop and husband Hubert, and Gwen Ziska. Our family would like to thank the staff at Raider Ranch Memory Care for the love and care given to our beloved mother, Joy over the past four years.
