Lawrence Duane Campbell was born on January 19, 1949 to Sam and Lucille Campbell in Lubbock, Texas. On December 21, 1968, Larry married the love of his life, Sondra Drake in Lubbock, Texas. Larry opened Campbell Construction in 1968 and worked in the steel building business for the last 50 years. He was known for his giving heart – if he saw a person in need, he did what he could to meet it. He lived a simple life. He loved hanging out in the backyard with family and friends, swimming in the pool with his grandkids, and getting together with his buddies to play cards. Family and friends loved to sit and listen to his humorous stories and unique views on life, many of which have been passed around numerous times and have become family favorites. Whether known as husband, dad, PawPaw, brother, uncle, or friend, he will be remembered by all who knew him as hardworking, generous, and funny.
Survivors include his children, John Campbell and wife, Kristen, and Kendra Harris and husband, Dusty; grandchildren, Kelsey Danai, and Cole Quincy Campbell, Kennedy Campbell and Tucker Michael Harris; great-grandchild, Kase Lane Rekieta; sister, Rita Jo Jones; and his very special friend of 5 years, Donna Hurt Filiippelli.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Lucille Campbell; wife, Sondra Lucille Campbell; and daughter, Melissa Campbell.
