Kidy Harris Stalcup

Kidy was born on June 27, 1921 to Edgar and Flora (Bailey) Harris in Chillicothe, TX. Her family moved to Ropesville and she graduated from Ropesville High School. She met the love of her life, M. J. Stalcup in Lubbock while he was serving in the Army Air Corps. They married on Sept. 1, 1942 in Denver, CO. After the war they lived in Lubbock. Kiddy’s life centered on her family and her church. She was an active member of Trinity Baptist Church where she sang with the Keenage choir. Kidy also enjoyed bowling and competed on several different leagues. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, and six siblings.Survivors include her son, J Stalcup of Lubbock; two grandchildren, Lindsay Stalcup of Rapid City, SD and Jason Stalcup and wife Lindsey of Austin; and a sister, Betty Fenter of Abilene.
